Ohio State will play its second ranked road game of the season this Saturday, Oct. 3, at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City, Iowa.

The Hawkeyes upended then-No. 18 Michigan in Week 4 thanks to a walk-off touchdown pass. Ohio State ran away from Illinois to 42-19 victory.

Building trust

Ryan Day discussed a common theme during Tuesday’s press conference: trust.

When it needed a play, the Ohio State offense looked toward receiver Jeremiah Smith last Saturday against Illinois. In the conference opener, Smith tied the program record with four touchdowns and set career highs across the board with 12 receptions for 217 yards.

Defensively, a collective effort boosted Ohio State past the Fighting Illini. The Buckeyes still gave up 462 yards, which is something they’ll have to limit when it gets later in the year.
