2026 MLB Home Run Derby

DAYTON, Ohio — The 2026 Major League Baseball Home Run Derby is scheduled for Monday, July 13, in Philadelphia.

Thursday, July 9: St. Louis outfielder Jordan Walker joined the Home Run Derby field as the first National League participant.

Walker leads the Cardinals with 21 homers.

Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper also announced his participation Thursday, and he’ll compete in the derby for the first time since 2018.

As of Wednesday, July 8, four players have announced their intent to participate in the derby.

Tampa Bay Rays infielder Junior Caminero was the first to announce his participation in the Home Run Derby, doing so on June 30.

This week, MLB announced New York Yankees infielder Ben Rice and Kansas City Royals outfielder Jac Caglianone will also participate in Monday’s derby. Boston Red Sox first baseman Willson Contreras later announced Wednesday that he’d join the field as the fourth American League representative.

Rice is the only Yankee with more than 20 home runs entering Wednesday night, and Caglianone is in his first full big-league season.

Contreras will look to become the second native of Venezuela to win the derby.
