AKRON, Ohio — The 48th annual Ohio High School Athletic Association softball state tournament began Wednesday morning at Firestone Stadium and will determine Divisions I-VII semifinal winners and finals champions through Sunday afternoon.
Wednesday saw both semifinals for D-I and D-VI, and Lancaster and Hilliard-Bradley from D-I joined West Jefferson and Danville in punching tickets to Thursday’s finals. All four games were decided by four runs or more.
Thursday will feature the D-VII semifinals and the first two championship games of the season in D-I and D-VI. First pitch for the first championship game between Lancaster and Hilliard-Bradley is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Each of the remaining softball state tournament games will be available on the NFHS Network with a video subscription and the OHSAA Radio Network with free audio.
