Los Angeles-Toronto set for 2025 World Series

One team seeks to defends its championship in hope of becoming the first National League repeat champion since the Big Red Machine in 1975-76, while the other looks to win its first World Series in 32 years.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays will meet in the 2025 World Series beginning Friday.

The Dodgers eliminated the Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies and Milwaukee Brewers while losing just one game on their way back to the Fall Classic.

Shohei Ohtani arguably one-upped himself in terms of having the greatest single-game performance of all time. Ohtani hit three home runs while striking out 10 batters in 6 1/3 innings pitched during his second Postseason start on the mound in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series on Oct. 16.

Toronto overcame a 3-2 American League Championship Series deficit against the Seattle Mariners winning both Games 6 and 7 at home to win its first pennant since repeating as World Series champion in 1993.

George Springer hit arguably the most infamous home run of this Postseason so far in Game 7 of the ALCS. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Springer blasted a 3-run home run giving the Blue Jays a 4-3 lead they’d hold in order to earn a trip to the World Series for the first time since going back-to-back in 1992-93.

Left-hander Blake Snell will take the mound for Los Angeles and rookie righty Trey Yesavage will toe the rubber for Toronto in Game 1 on Friday.

Game 1 will take place at Rogers Centre broadcast at 8 p.m. on FOX.
