The Dayton Dragons have swept the past two weeks.
They also won the go-home game at Lansing on Aug. 17. Since then, it’s been nothing but winning for the Dragons.
Manager Vince Harrison Jr. and the Dragons have won 13-consecutive games tying their franchise record set in 2002. This time around, Dayton has outscored its opponents 66-31.
Dayton won all six games at home against Peoria Aug. 19-24 and then went on the road last week and swept Fort Wayne.
According to the Dayton Dragons, their 13-game winning streak “is the longest in the Midwest League since 2018,” and it is also “the longest anywhere in Minor League Baseball since 2023 (all levels, 120 teams).”
The Dragons are 47-75 this season and 26-31 in the second half of the year which began in June.
Dayton will open its final homestand and series of the season Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. against the Lugnuts. Right-handed pitcher Jose Montero will start on the mound for the Dragons, and he has a 4.15 ERA in 95 1/3 innings along with 82 strikeouts this year.
