The Cincinnati Reds are calling up their latest top prospect.
Sal Stewart is being called up to Cincinnati, according to multiple reports. The Reds confirmed the move Monday on social media.
Stewart is the Reds’ No. 1 prospect according to MLB Pipeline. He’s a 6-foot-1 infielder with experience at three infield spots including second and third base.

Stewart is from Miami, and he was selected No. 32 overall in the 2022 MLB Draft as a compensation pick for the free agent loss of Nick Castellanos.
The Louisville Bat and Chattanooga Lookout had 40 multi-hit games across two levels of the minors this season. Stewart had season-high performances of four hits four times, twice at each level and as recently as Aug. 13.
Stewart has a .315/.394/.629 slash line in 2025. He has 54 extra-base hits led by 34 doubles.
Stewart’s call-up comes at a critical point in the season as the calendar turns to September.
The Reds are four games back of the third Wild Card spot behind the New York Mets. Cincinnati is 69-68 this season, and it has reached a season-high seven games over .500 on Aug. 19 following a three-game win streak.
Cincinnati snapped a five-game losing skid on Sunday with a 7-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. Stewart figures to provide a boost to the Reds lineup that is seventh in the National League with a +33 run differential.
Stewart and the Reds will continue a nine-game home stand against the Toronto Blue Jays beginning Monday at 1:10 p.m.
