Two years after their relationship became public, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift officially announced their engagement.
Kelce and Swift announced in an Instagram post on Tuesday captioned, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Kelce and Swift coupled in 2023. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and iconic artist were seen at one another’s biggest and most important events early in their relationship, such as Swift watching Kelce’s Chiefs games at Arrowhead Stadium and Kelce attending Swift’s Eras Tour across the globe.
According to Jocelyn Noveck and Dave Skretta of The Associated Press, Swift’s engagement ring “was an old mine brilliant-cut diamond from Kindred Lubeck.”
Swift is a 14-time Grammy Award-winning artist and Kelce is a three-time Super Bowl champion.
Kelce grew up in Cleveland Heights and attended the University of Cincinnati from 2008-12.

It’s pretty cool to see the two mark a new milestone in their relationship together. I’ve enjoyed watching Kelce and Swift thrive together and from one another.
I have a lot of respect for both Kelce and Swift for the level at which they prepare for and fulfill their goals and aspirations. It’s incredibly impressive the careers they’ve had:
- Kelce is the Chiefs’ all-time receiving leader in touchdowns and yards.
- Swift holds the record with her Eras Tour being the highest grossing of all time.
That’s only to name a couple achievements. Soon, Kelce will take the football field for his 13th season when Kansas City begins the regular season in September and Swift will release her 12th album The Life of a Showgirl on October 3.
