CINCINNATI — The defending World Series champions are in town.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have made their way to Cincinnati beginning a three-game series against the Reds. Terry Francona will manage against Dave Roberts, and Elly De La Cruz will be challenged by three-time MVP Shohei Ohtani and the dangerous Dodgers lineup.
Jacob Benge Media will be in attendance all three games.
It will be my first time seeing Ohtani since the Reds swept a two-game series against the Los Angeles Angels in August 2019.
I haven’t seen Mookie Betts play in person, and I’m also interested in watching Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitch.

The Dodgers are taking batting practice. They’re also putting the ball out of the field regularly — early.
Fans are filling the left field line close to the Dodgers dugout.

Postgame
That was a fun game to watch. Yamamoto controlled the pace when the Ddogers played defense and Ohtani had a game I felt was similar to one Joey Votto would have at Great American Ballpark.
Consider this: 1-for-3, two walks, two RBI, go-ahead 2B, run scored.
Ohtani produced that line Monday night. His double to the right-center field gap was in front of where I stood under the smoke stacks.
Ohtani and De La Cruz also had a pretty cool interaction together after the two-bagger in the top of the fifth inning.
