CINCINNATI — I’m back in Cincy for my second game of the regular season after attending my first Opening Day last Thursday.
I highly recommend going to Opening Day in Cincinnati to anyone in the future. What a great atmosphere inside and outside the ballpark.
Tonight the Terry Francona and the Reds look to form their first win streak of the year against Nathan Eovaldi and the Texas Rangers.

Benge Notes
End of eighth inning
Nathan Eovaldi is through eight shutout inning which should be up there for one of the best starting pitching performances of the early season this far.
Add eight strikeouts and factor in no walks and Eovaldi is in line for the win during a 1-0 game.
End of the third inning
Wyatt Langford is halfway to a cycle with a solo homer and a single after which he was thrown out at second base in the top of the third inning.
Carson Spiers has three strikeouts in three innings.
It’s partly cloudy and 55 degrees at Great American Ballpark.
Pregame
This will be my third Reds game of the year and as many in seven days counting the exhibition in Dayton.
Texas will be managed by Bruce Bochy, who guided the San Francisco Giants to three World Series titles from 2010-14. He also led the 2012 comeback in Cincinnati beating the Reds by winning three games on the road, something no team had done all season.
Incredible Reds debut for Brady Singer on Monday. Seven scoreless innings to do something no one has since Tom Seaver in 1977 is impressive. I think the Reds will benefit from Singer’s addition to the rotation as another impact right-hander alongside Hunter Greene and Nick Martinez.
